Prerequisites & Minimum Age


Minimum age: 10 years. Student divers who are younger than 15 earn the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification. The Junior Open Water certification comes with restrictions.

You need to show that you are medically fit for diving. To do that – complete the PADI Medical Statement – if you answer “yes” to any of the questions, you will need to see a doctor before you can enter the water. If you can answer “no” to all of the questions, you are good to go!
